CARYATIS Aether
A Journey Through Greek Women's Stories.
“Get on board” for a visual adventure through George Tatakis’ photographs, to the intricate world of Greek women's attire as your destination. "Caryatis Aether", an exhibition organised by Athens International Airport and the Lyceum Club of Greek Women Kalamata / The Victoria Karelias Collection of Traditional Greek Costumes, unveils the beauty and history of local Greek clothing.
Travel from towering mountains to sunlit islands and discover tales woven into the threads of traditional fashion. Experience the spirit of Thrace refugees, the determination of Vlachs and Sarakatsani, and the cultural pride of Dodecanese islanders through their unique garments.
Caryatis Aether captures the essence of Greek heritage, earning 22 international awards. Walk through landscapes of tradition, where local women embody the custodians of culture. Join in their stories, transcending time and space.
Therefore, this is a challenge to connect with your roots through this exhibition held at the first gate of our country, the Athens Airport. Before starting your journey, let the Caryatids of George Tatakis inspire you and speak to you each one in their own language, so that you too can discover and love your personal cultural identity.
