IN-PERSON PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES

Learn to take better photographs.

Classes with George Tatakis, in small groups for beginners and advanced photographers. Practical assignments and specific feedback on your photographs.

The new programme is being prepared. Register your interest to receive it when it is ready.

01 / WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Practical skills for better photographs.

We will work on five things that make a difference to your photographs, at the right level for your group.

01 Camera settings

Control how bright your photograph is, where you focus and how you capture movement.

02 Light

See where the light is coming from and how it changes a face or a scene.

03 Composition

Choose where to stand, what to include in your photograph and what to leave out.

04 Timing

Wait for the expression, movement or glance you want to photograph.

05 Selection

Recognise your strongest photographs and understand what makes them better.

02 / THE GROUPS

Two groups. Choose the one that suits you.

01 BEGINNERS

Start with the basics.

For people starting out or wanting to understand their camera better.

Learn what to change when a photograph comes out darker, brighter or blurrier than you intended. Practise using light and composition: where to stand and how to arrange what you see within the frame.

No previous experience is needed.

02 ADVANCED

Improve your photographs and develop your own series.

For photographers who know the basic settings and want to improve their composition, image selection and presentation.

Work on a subject of your own. We will look at how to photograph it, which images to keep, what to try again and how to arrange the photographs into a series.

The aim is to make photographs that work together and clearly present your chosen subject.

Not sure which group suits you? Select “I'm not sure yet” in the form.

03 / HOW THE CLASSES WORK

Take photographs. Find out what to improve.

  1. 01

    Learn from examples.

We study photographs and explain how light, the photographer’s position and composition affect the result.

  2. 02

    Take photographs.

Between meetings, you complete a specific assignment or work on your own subject.

  3. 03

    Discuss the results.

In the sessions, we review participants’ photographs: what worked, what needs changing and what you can try next time.

We go beyond “I like it.” We explain what to keep and what to change. You also learn from other participants’ examples.

04 / THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Learn with George Tatakis.

George Tatakis photographs people, customs and places across Greece.

In the classes, he explains how he works through examples from his own photographs: how he approaches a subject, chooses his position and timing, and selects the images he keeps.
